About SNCTP

Name:

    Sudan National Committee on Traditional Practices Affecting theHealth of Women and Children / SNCTP .

Identity:

    SNCTP is a national voluntary women organization, non political, non- profit able ,non- governmental  and non- religious .It is an affiliate of  the Inter African committee  (IAC) on traditional practices. It enjoys UN special consultative status /ECOSOC since 1999. Member  of UN/ CONGO since 2001 and enjoys AU observor status  2002& ECOSOC 2007.

 

Vision :

    SNCTP strive to contribute to a society which is free of all forms of gender based violence / HIV/AIDS and where all women and children have equal access to quality health care and are able to live in an environment which supports equity health, education and enjoy human dignity and rights.

 

Mission :

    SNCTP is working to eliminate all forms of gender based violence, reduce HIV/AIDS and promote best practices in collaboration with officials, communities, religious leaders and advocate for the well being of women and children utilizing available resources.

Goal :

        Improvement of women and children rights in regard to health and education in rural areas and in internal displaced camps in the Sudan.

 

Field of work :

     SNCTP is fighting the followings:

  1. Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) & other harmful trational practices(HTPs) .

  2. Child & forced marriages.

  3.  Non-Child spacing & milk teeth extraction.

  4.  HIV/AIDS.

  5. Violence against children & women & gender based violence.

  6.  Nutritional taboos .

 Besides that it Disseminates information on Convention  of the Child Rights, Production of education materials and carries base Line assessments surveys and operational research.
